A Promise to Catbury

Frank Bingham, chief inspector of the RSPCA, spoke to us about his experiences with animal cruelty in Tasmania ranging from domestic situations to border line conspiracy cases in the commercial world. He brought with him copies of his book 'A Promise to Catbury' which is not for the faint of heart. It is available at the library. If you like to purchase a copy email us (buy at devonportlions dot info) and we will get you in touch with Frank. All profits go towards the RSPCA.

Devonport Skate Park
Pictured below is Simone Atkins, Devonport Council’s Policy and Projects Officer and Mayor and Alderman Lyn Laycock. Simone spoke to the City of Devonport Lions about the inspirational youth involved with the proposed Devonport Skate Park.

Our (outgoing) President Grant Goodwin, Alderman, presented Simone with a $20K cheque to contribute towards the new skate-park. Here is a Grant pictured with 'the boss' Mayor Laycock:

Collect stamps for Children's Mobility Services

Don't forget that we like to collect stamps to support the Riverside Lions Club (to aid Children's Mobility Services)! If you have any stamps, neatly torn off envelopes, you can give them to Lion van Praag at our meetings or just put them in his letterbox at 2 Rose Court.
