Today's raffle run by Lyndon raffled off an entire salmon as the first prize. It was donated by Petuna, via John Tierney. There were four prizes in total and Jenny Rimmer almost won 3 of them. Fortunately she refused to accept and tickets were redrawn after she won the fish. Nonetheless we all thought there was something fishy going on and the word 'witch' was repeatedly uttered in the crowd.

The Civic Reception hosted by our Mayor Ald. Lynn Laycock in appreciation of 50 years of service to the community; held at the Council Chambers from 6pm-730pm. Members and partners are invited, but please RSVP the receptionist by Friday 11 September (ph: 03 - 6424 0511)!PFD Foodfair is on Sunday and Monday 27 and 28 September, and we are arranging volunteers to set up tables etc. on Sunday morning (9am) and pack them up again on the Monday.The Magic Show is on soon, one of our major fund raisers of the year. We will need members to volunteer for the ushering. of all shows held on Monday 19 October.The Imaginarium is running low on funds due to lack of government funding for Questacon which in turn will need to significantly increase the rental of their exhibitions. Any ideas to help the Imaginarium wrt funding or alternative science related displays are welcome!We are manning the racegates again on Monday 21 September at SpreytonBill Slater is turning 80 shortly and we will have a party at Denise and Philip Gleeson's house for him at 4pm on Saturday 10 October.
