Other business attended to included Lion Bill's report from the Zone Meeting held last Sunday which reported:
- New Leo Club for Smithton
- Christmas Cakes new pricing $11 and $15 for small and large respectively
- Remember our convention coming up in Ulverstone next November!
- Youth of the Year to invite school principals
- 13 April meeting will have our Zone Chairman visiting.
Taste the Harvest this weekend!! Sunday 11 March 1030am till 630pm.
All hands needed on deck for the setup on Saturday, starting at 9am with fencing, BBQ lunch ofr volunteers. Lion members are also needed on site at 8am on Sunday to help with stall and marquise setup.
The Taste the Harvest dinner at The Waterfront Function Centre (High Tide Restaurant) is sold out with 160 seats sold!
East Devonport Skatepark is just about ready to be opened. It already has its first graffiti! Some landscaping still to be completed, and the official plague has been ordered. The facility will be officially opened by Lara Giddings at 2pm on the 2nd of May 2012. We expect a blushing Bobby Medcraft, the 16 year old rad youth activisit who led the campaign for the skate-park in 2003, to be there.
Next meeting is the Youth of theYear meeting! Our club currently has 5 local contestants who will compete to go to the Regional Titles and on to the Nationals later this year. Our club is still in need of Lion members to help usher at the Sunday 1 April regional finals. Speak to Lion Jay.
