Lion James Pearson, new President 09/10
The Lions Club of City of Devonport held it's Fiftieth Installation Night dinner on Saturday, 27 June 2009, at the Gateway Hotel. Fifty Lions members, partners and guests attended the function which saw fourteen Lions Club members sworn in as office bearers for the coming year. Past District Governor Bryan Smith, of the Kentish Lions Club, installed the following Lions into their respective positions on the new board:
Lion James Pearson, PresidentGuest Leon Wootton, from Devonport North Rotary, was presented Honorary Membership in the Lions Club of City of Devonport. Additionally, he received a “Thank You” plaque. He was honoured for his leadership as Chairman of the sub-committee, over a four year period, attendant to the erecting of the “Spirit of the Sea” water feature. Ken Knowles and Leo Smith, members of the Mersey Lions Club, were presented with certificates of appreciation for their efforts in support of the water feature.

- Lion Horst Koerner was presented with a “Lion of the Year” plaque for outstanding service.
- Lion Philip Gleeson was presented with a plaque recognising his year in office as President..
- Lion Bill Slater was presented with a plaque recognising his year as Secretary.
- Lion Brian Ralston was presented with a Lions Tasmanian Foundation Fellow certificate in recognition of outstanding service, dedication and loyalty.
Guest Mayor Lynn Laycock presented four Community Service Awards in recognition of singularly significant service within the Devonport Community to:
