This evening we were graced by Kaye Campbell from the Latrobe Lions Club who asked us if we had any questions or issues for her to raise at the upcoming zone meeting. She is our Zone Chairman and will represent us. Kaye also explained how the structure of Lions Clubs works and how people such as herself are also volunteers and are not paid a wage to fulfill these functions. She is modestly reimbursed for required travel. Like the rest of it she is Zone Chairman out of free will and does so as a volunteer! Have a look at this presentation <click>.
The structure of the Lions Club is as follows:
Club
Zone
Region
District (35 clubs and 1250 members or more)
Multiple District
International
Board of Directors
Also at our meeting, Geoff had plenty of fines to go around; complete with petty fines such as Lion Walter trying to pay for dinner with a beer cap.... We were reminded of the Music Hall night on Friday night the 21st of August, for which we have 18 seats (first in first served: contact Lion Garry Potter). If you can only go on a Saturday night then contact Kaye from the Latrobe Lions Club ASAP as they have some spare seats. Thye over 90s party is scheduled for November 8, if you know anyone over 90 who needs inviting please email the details to over90@devonportlions.info. September 24th is our Citizen of the Year award (if you like to nominate someone email citofyear@devonportlions.info).
