Membership Issues

Following today's meeting, and the article on membership procedures printed in our current Devon-Lion (read on line <here>) it appears there is still some controversy about membership procedures. Kaye Campbell will also raise this issue at the next zone meeting. I was very disappointed, and have been disappointed in the past, how when membership proposals are circulated amongst the members during a meeting they are not passed on and often disappear in one member's papers. This is disrespectful to the member nominated as well as to the member proposing the nomination. This has happened in the past. If a membership proposal is not passed-on to each other at the meeting the nomination will go to the board for approval assuming everyone has seen it. If no objections were received from members by the membership chair (Lion Walter) it is presumed to be circulated and passed by the members and only needs board approval.

If anyone likes to have a read of the Administration Manual for Lions Clubs in Australia (2MB pdf file), it can be read on line <here>. Any feedback or corrections, opinions or feelings on this issue can be emailed to the MemberShip Chair.
