Devonport Cup Day is coming up 6 January, all hands on deck at the gates from about lunchtime onwards! All members are urged to attend and help out. This is a fun day, and the more of us show up the more time we get to watch the races!

Carols by Candlelight on Sunday the 13th of December at the Devonport Sound Shell. Setting up starts at 830am, and members are encouraged to come as early as 5pm to help out where we can. Wear your Lions Shirts! Singing will start at 5.30pm onwards and entry is by gold coin donation.

We are putting a float in the Apex Christmas Parade this year, highlighting our 50th anniversary and celebrating Lionism in general. Justin and Cathy will need lots of help dressing up the truck on Thursday 17 December from 5pm to get the truck ready for the 7pm start of the parade! Lion members meet at 530pm at the Madden Street Park and bring more tinsel!

Our Lions Christmas Party is held on Sunday 20th December at the East Devonport Bowls Club, all members should come and be merry from 2-5pm.

Remember we have the Mildura Lions Convention coming up in May 2010.

And the Lions International Convention is coming up in Sydney on June 27 - July 2. If you are thinking of attending think of accommodation first, Sydney will be booked out!

And in April 2010, after the Taste the Harvest festival we are going for a record in the Lions Biggest BBQ!! Lions Biggest BBQ is an annual fundraising event undertaken by many of the 1,400 Clubs across the country. To date, Lions Australia has raised over $3.7 million for Children’s Cancer Institute Australia (CCIA) through various fundraising activities such as the Lions Biggest BBQ. All funds raised go towards research into the causes and cures of childhood cancer in Australia.
